Join us for a week of exploring ancestral skills! We will be focusing on leather tanning and twining with local plants.
Students Will:

Tan a weasel pelt with ivory soap

Powell Plains Location will be a Drop-Off & Van Ride to Central Oregon Outskirts! Specific Locations for our day trips will all be with river access and we will send out a list of locations at the beginning each week of camp.
Class Description:
Calling all creators! This is the perfect camp for primitive enthusiasts eager to craft amazing creations using raw materials harvested straight from the wild. Let’s face it: showcasing your skills with some impressive primitive bling brings out the cave person in all of us. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make twine from scratch, dye from plants, or leather from animal skins, this camp will satisfy your primitive hunger!
This week, we’re spotlighting leather tanning using ivory soap to tan weasel pelts. Kids can even add their tanned pelts to their witch or wizard staffs, enhancing both their power and cool factor. Each week will feature a major craft focus, along with foundational skills like twining and knot-making. With a mix of games, play, and the signature Wildheart magic, this camp promises an unforgettable, inspiring experience.
